Based in Birmingham they are looking to hire a Technical Sales Engineer to handle existing client enquires and to contact potential prospects, the UK site generate an annual turnover of over £5 million and due to high client demands and orders they are offering a Technical Sales Engineer the opportunity to help grow their existing client portfolio.

The Role

As a Technical Sales Engineer at Valve Force Ltd, you will play a crucial role in supporting technical and commercial enquiries, managing customer requirements, and advising on the best products to meet their needs. You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with customers, providing professional technical quotes, and offering comprehensive solutions from design and installation to project management.

The Technical Sales Engineer’s key responsibilities:  

Key Responsibilities:

Technical and Commercial Support: Provide support for technical and commercial enquiries, ensuring customer needs are met effectively.
Sales Potential Analysis: Evaluate all enquiries to understand their sales potential and strategize accordingly.
Cross-Selling: Develop the offering by cross-selling across the group, including valves, pumps, heat exchangers, controls, and service packages.
Comprehensive Solutions: Offer a total package from design and installation to project management.
Relationship Development: Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, following up on quotes and ensuring satisfaction.
Technical Quotations: Provide professional technical quotes for customers, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Product Knowledge: Understand the product range thoroughly and offer technical advice to customers.
Team Collaboration: Liaise with other members of the sales team to ensure cohesive and effective sales strategies.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for the Technical Sales Engineer role, you will need:

Experience: 5+ years of experience in a relevant field is desirable.
Knowledge: Familiarity with valves, pumps, heat exchangers, controls, and service packages is beneficial.
Education: Engineering qualification is advantageous.
Sales Experience: Previous experience in sales is advantageous.
Skills: Strong customer service, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, research, and multitasking abilities. Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with great active listening skills.
