Technical Operator
Based near Skipton, North Yorkshire
Highly regulated manufacturing environment
£35,000 plus regular overtime and onsite gym
Hours are 6.00am - 4.15pm and 4.00pm to 2.00am Monday to Thursday (4 day week)

Having hired a great candidate for this role the client is now looking for an additional person to help grow the team further. There is a lot of flexibility in industry background as there will be lots of training. Transferable skills can come from either printing, packaging, FMCG or pharmaceutical industries. The ideal candidate will come from a role where there are strict quality standards and a need for precision, such as machine operation, production, or process control. Experience with troubleshooting equipment, working in a fast-paced environment, and adhering to health and safety regulations will be highly beneficial.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Technical Operator, you'll play a key role in our client's production team, ensuring maximum efficiency and quality across a variety of manufacturing machines, including Coating Machines, Conversion Machines, and Mixing Operations. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Machine Setup & Operation - Taking ownership of machine setup and ensuring smooth operation.
• Problem-Solving & Efficiency - Troubleshooting issues, generating ideas to reduce waste, and improving overall efficiency.
• Health & Safety First - Always working to the highest safety standards, following company policies, and looking out for the well-being of yourself and your team.
• Continuous Improvement - Getting involved in projects like 5S, waste reduction, and change-over improvements to keep things running at peak performance.
• Training & Development - Helping to onboard and support less experienced colleagues as they grow in the role.

What We're Looking For:

We're after someone with a strong technical mindset, hands-on experience, and the ability to work independently while being a great team player. Ideally, you'll have:

• 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment involving machine operation, setup, and troubleshooting.
• A formal apprenticeship or technical qualifications (HND/HNC preferred) however proven experience is very much welcome.
• A solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement techniques.
• The ability to read and follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and testing procedures with accuracy.
• A proactive attitude-someone who can prioritise tasks, solve problems, and take initiative when needed.
• Industry background is less important than having the right mindset.
