Development Lead - Production

SVP/VP Regulatory – Rare Diseases & Genetic Medicine

Contract Role 0.4 OTE


Location: UK (Hybrid/Remote)

An innovative biotech company focused on individualized genetic medicines is seeking an SVP/VP of Regulatory to lead its global regulatory strategy. This role will be instrumental in advancing therapies for rare CNS diseases, ensuring patients gain access to cutting-edge treatments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global regulatory strategy and submissions, with a focus on the UK, EU, and potentially the FDA.
  • Drive interactions with regulatory authorities (MHRA, EMA, FDA) to ensure smooth submission processes.
  • Oversee and execute high-stakes regulatory submissions, aligning internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership in navigating complex international regulatory landscapes in the UK, Europe, and beyond.
  • Support the company’s scaling and growth, particularly during a significant ramp-up phase.


Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapy
  • Extensive regulatory affairs experience in the UK, EU, and EMEA regions.
  • Proven track record of leading global regulatory submissions, including MHRA and EMA approvals.
  • Expertise in rare diseases, ASO therapies, and/or pediatric neurodegenerative disorders.
  • Strong relationships with key regulatory agencies (UK, EU, and preferably FDA).
  • Experience scaling regulatory operations in a fast-growing biotech/start-up environment.
