At ImmuONE, our vision is to transformin vitroinhalation safety assessment by providing the best-in-classin vitromodels and tailoredin vitroservices that most accurately predictin vivooutcomes. We have unique capabilities in the development and commercialisation of immunocompetent 2D and 3Din vitromodels and assessments and work with the pharmaceutical, consumer product and chemical sectors globally to provide vital data on safety of new products and pharmacology and efficacy of new therapeutics. Our key focus is on lung toxicology and macrophage responses as well as other mucosal biological barriers (e.g. eye, oromucosa). 

 

What we are looking for: 

We are currently looking for an experiencedin vitroscientist to co-ordinate our expanding commercialin vitroservices team. Key aspects of the role include being a study-lead planning, co-ordinating and delivering customer projects as well as co-ordinating multiple projects, resource and personnel and balancing commercial and R&D activities. An ideal candidate must have a track-record in being a study lead, delivering multiple projects in a commercial and dynamic environment, preferably related to drug/product safety and/or pharmacology. Applicants must be able to keep up with the pace of a fast-growing biotech start-up. Key Activities and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform the role of study lead and execute ImmuONE’s portfolio ofin vitroassays to GIVIMP
  • Co-ordinate our commercialin vitroservices projects to ensure delivery timelines are met
  • Lead the validation and establish and embed new assessment methods
  • Act as a scientific expert for external projects
  • Train and mentor junior members of the team
  • Build effective working relationships with key clients
  • Skilled in written or oral presentation of results and outcomes to customers and at conferences as required
  • Develop operating and quality procedures, and act as a lead for GIVIMP and/or other quality systems required
  • Oversee and uphold the appropriate use of data management systems within the research and development team
  • Work cross functionally to achieve company goals
  • Perform any other reasonably


Person Specification 

Essential 

  • Completion of BSc studies in Biological Sciences or equivalent subject
  • 5+ years industry experience, preferably in a regulated pharmaceutical/biotech or CRO lab environment
  • Previous study director and project management experience
  • Expertise in mammalian cell culture
  • Expertise in cell & molecular biology techniques
  • Prior experience of developing cell-based in vitro assays
  • Prior experience of running in vitro assays to quality standards (e.g. GIVIMP, GLP)
  • Skilled at troubleshooting activities and process optimisation whilst supporting less experienced personnel
  • Track-record of successfully working and delivering projects in a team environment
  • Enthusiastic, problem-solving, can-do approach to work
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, develop and implement work plans
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and co-ordinate projects effectively
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload
  • Proficiency in IT systems (Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and statistical analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Desirable 

  • Experience of working with lung, epithelial and/or immunein vitromodels 
  • Experience inin vitrodrug discovery, pharmacology, toxicology and/or immunology 
  • Experience of working within formal quality management environment 
  • MSc in relevant subject area
