This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Senior or Principal Scientist to lead the establishment and execution of innovative translational preclinical models, contribute to client success, and shape the future of preclinical research at Pharmidex.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take a lead role in establishing, developing, and validating preclinical models in-house – with a focus on respiratory disease, oncology, and infection.

• Serve as Study Director, managing studies from planning and execution through to data reporting and scientific interpretation.

• Coordinate and maintain a safe, compliant, and well-organised laboratory environment.

• Support and supervise technical staff across all preclinical projects.

• Engage with clients and collaborators to ensure successful delivery of studies and ongoing relationships.

• Contribute to internal project reviews, innovation initiatives, and cross-functional discussions.

Your Background:

• Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Biological Sciences, Pharmacology, or a related life sciences discipline.

• Minimum 3 - 5 years of hands-on preclinical experience in a pharma, biotech, or academic translational research setting.

• Demonstrable experience in developing and running preclinical Respiratory or Oncology models.

• Hold or have previously held a Home Office Personal Licence (PIL Modules 1–3 or equivalent).

• Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and independently manage projects.

• Familiarity with preclinical techniques including multiple administration routes.

• Competent in data analysis using GraphPad Prism, SPSS, or similar software.

• Experience of managing large and complex studies with good documentation and planning skills.

• Flexible and willing to conduct occasional out-of-hours work to meet study needs.

Desirable (not essential):

• Experience with preclinical imaging techniques (e.g. IVIS, microCT).

• Practical expertise in cell culture or ex-vivo sample analysis.

• Background in GLP or regulatory-aligned studies.

• Previous exposure to client-facing roles or project oversight in a CRO setting.
