We also provide some specialistservices that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.
Job overview

This post lies within the Child, and Adolescent Services of West London Mental Health NHS
Trust. The post-holder will be based at Hounslow CAMHS at the Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health.
The post is split, depending on needs, between the Adolescent Team and the Child and Family Team. The post contributes to the service Duty Rota providing experience in managing referrals and urgent response. There are also opportunities for experience in the Neurodevelopmental Team, as well as opportunity for work with other health services and agencies.
The Clinician will join the Adolescent and CFT assessments, team meeting and clinics.
The Clinician will be able to offer assessment and treatment to cases referred to the teams, be expected to be involved in case management and will have opportunity to co-work cases with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Clinical Supervision will be offered by the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.
The doctor will be offered the opportunity to attend multi-professional meetings and liaise with the extended networks involved in providing services to cases referred.
There is opportunity to gain experience in different psychotherapeutic modalities under supervision of trained professionals. These include family therapy, psychotherapy and CBT but the main duty is managing the day to day activities and caseload.
Previous experience of working in child and adolescent mental health service is essential
Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role are offering day to day medical input to clients age between 5 and 18 years old. This includes assessments, reviews and prescribing medication.
The successful candidate contributes to the duty rota which covers emergency calls from 9 AM to 5 PM.
There is the opportunity to attend training and clinician is entitled to use study leave opportunity.
Clinicians are encouraged to participate in QI, Audit and service improvement projects.
Successful candidate receives weekly supervision by consultant psychiatrist and attend weekly MDT meeting.

Person specification

Training and Qualifications

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within three months of appointment
Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with three months of appointment
Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
MRCPsych In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
Experience, Knowledge and skills

Excellent knowledge in specialty
Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others
Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
Other Requirements

Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training
Ability to work in and lead team
Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership & collaborative working to deliver improvement
Participated in continuous professional development
Participated in research or service evaluation.
Able to use and appraise clinical evidence
