Responsibilities:
Supporting product groups and associated products

Contribute to the technical strategic vision and roadmap within a product group or series of related products, ensuring the technology ecosystem supports the needs of the product teams.

Own key architecture assets including the city map and reference architecture to influence the right investments across a product group, focusing on new features and technical debt reduction.

Design implementation paths for custom and Line of Business applications (Software-as-a-Service and Commercial-off-the-Shelf), covering commodity/highly industrialized business processes.

Influence cross-product and product groups by partnering with Architects across the enterprise to ensure alignment with the holistic vision.

Partner closely with Product Management and Principal Engineers to support taking an architectural design to a ‘ready to build’ state.

Apply external technology trends (AI, cloud-native) to business problems, influencing product teams to help drive future technology strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement
Support Product Managers in business discussions, articulating how technology visions and roadmaps support business outcomes.

Build relationships with business stakeholders to understand their needs and influence necessary changes and technology investments.

Establish strong partnerships with key service integrators (vendors) and internal engineers to ensure technical competency and architecture alignment.

Bring external insights and the art of the possible to leadership across the function.

Architecture Team
Partner with business, Product Management, and enterprise/solution architects to recommend opportunities for technology rationalization and reuse.

Deliver on key central architecture initiatives that support growth and impact across Elanco.

Support solution architecture review groups to ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements.

Contribute to architecture standards and patterns for product teams.

Identify and support initiatives to address technical debt and improve portfolio health.

Enable discovery to validate business and technology directions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science.

5+ years of experience in architecting and delivering enterprise IT systems.

Experience in large technology selection processes and leading technical decisions.

Hands-on IT engineering background with diverse architecture experience.

Understanding of data architecture principles.

Experience with modern application architecture methodologies (SOA, API-Centric, Twelve-Factor, FAIR, etc.)

Experience with Cloud Native design patterns, especially Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud.

Knowledge of modern software development practices (CI/CD, TDD, etc.).

Experience with SaaS interface implementation and digital platform support.

Experience scaling API ecosystems and designing API-First patterns.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Leadership qualities and proactive communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with pharmaceutical IT systems and processes (ELN, LIMS, CDS, LES, etc.).

Familiarity with infrastructure considerations in cloud and on-premise environments.

Experience in regulated industries such as life sciences.

Solution architecture certifications for Azure or Google Cloud.

Experience delivering architecture in a product operating model.

Additional Information:
Travel: Occasional travel may be required.

Location: Hook, UK. Hybrid work environment.
