Shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Staff – Salary + Shift & Call Out Allowance – Flintshire

Our leading continuous manufacturing client is seeking a Shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician on a staff basis.

You will be working an alternating shift pattern of 6am – 2pm and 10am – 6pm, Monday to Friday. There is also call out, paid even if not called out.

function of job Provide day to day running maintenance of plant mechanical equipment through the works order system and proactive observations. Identify and rectify plant problems. Work must conform to company HSE directives and permit to work systems.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for the day to day running maintenance of plant mechanical equipment.

  • Follow company HSE policy and permit to work systems.

  • Be available as required for out of hours breakdown call - outs Carry out breakdown and routine mechanical / maintenance repairs Liaise with Plant Engineer regarding requisitions for spares etc.

  • Complete daily log of activities /update works order systems and paperwork.

  • Assess maintenance requirements of work generated from all sources, prioritise tasks and allocate workload where appropriate.

  • In the case of offsite contractual repairs, act as technical liaison with repairers to expedite work completion Undertake housekeeping duties to work areas during and after repairs Job Dimension (control of budget, staff reporting).

  • Contractor support / supervision required.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • ONC, apprenticeship, or equivalent in an engineering discipline advantageous.

  • TIG welding qualification advantageous.

  • Experience in a continuous plant essential.

  • Ideally, chemicals, petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical or COMAH regulated industry experience.

  • Awareness of HSE issues and legislation Experience of supervising contractors advantageous.

  • Practical hands-on individual, team player.

  • Able to use own initiative - Ability to prioritise workload & work well under pressure
