Our client are a leading UK Design Consultancy, delivering multi-disciplinary engineering solutions in the Built Environment. They have a diverse range of clients and portfolio of projects which cover industrial, pharmaceutical, residential, commercial, education, defence, probation and domestic sectors. They work with a mixture of clients both public and private across a broad range of sectors and due to their quality of service, a large percentage of their work is repeat business based on years of partnerships, even with generations of the same family.

Due to continuing demand, their busy Sheffield Structures Team have an opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join their buoyant office, working on projects in Yorkshire and further afield. They are looking for a motivated Engineer with a minimum of five years UK industry experience to join their busy team and work on a wide range of projects with a multitude of clients, contractors and architects. The projects are a mixture of concrete frame, steel frame, medium to high-rise design, and existing structures, working across sectors such as residential, commercial, refurbishment, and industrial sectors.

Providing proactive leadership, you will help lead a team of creative, dedicated engineers across an array of exciting and interesting projects. Using software to assist with calculations and structural design such as MasterSeries, Tekla, CSC FastTrack, or Strand7, you will be skilled at preparing, detailing, and reviewing drawings, supervising CAD Technicians in the preparation of these drawings. You will be able to work collaboratively with engineers in other disciplines such as geotechnical and civil/infrastructure design and be comfortable with supervising, mentoring and checking work for Graduates, Engineers and Technicians.

Further responsibilities will include working with clients and other Engineers to project manage a variety projects. You will be informing and supporting the building design aspirations, functionality and architectural form throughout the design process. You will set a strong example of client care and general consultancy and support the existing team of Engineers and Graduates to do the same and maintain responsibility for the financial performance of your projects, ensuring timely delivery of high quality design.

Assisting in the preparation of design quotes and writing reports and attending client and project meetings to build relationships and discuss their needs, requirements, and any design issues, you will be Chartered or working towards chartered status with ICE or IStructE and have had hands-on design experience and the ability to work on multiple projects at one time with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
