Tocontribute to the development of characterisation methods for thecompany/'s biopharmaceutical products, including peptide mapping(LC-MS/MS) and intact mass spectrometry analysis. KEYRESPONSIBILITIES* Supporting drug substance and drug productimpurity characterisation and identification* Performing proteinsequence and post translational modification identification,including glycosylation analysis. * Supporting drug substance anddrug product process development by performing characterisation ofprocess intermediates * Contribute to the Development ofcharacterisation methods of ImmTAX and other products, includingpeptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass analysis * Designing andcarrying out biochemical characterisation, chemical stability andcomparability studies of biologics/drug products. * Contribute towriting study protocols and reports.* Independently testing and,increasingly, leading lines of investigation. Proposing newexperiments based on emerging data and other related information.Providing support on technical aspects to others. * Priorities:establishing priorities for own work and team-based projects;making decisions on prioritisation based on the overall goals ofthe team, department and project, using direct evidence andpersonal experience as guidance. * Technical Knowledge: sharingknowledge with the wider team and, across departments representingthe department. May also act as a mentor to other colleagues,sharing scientific knowledge. Providing analysis of new techniquesand theories from outside the Company to advance the way thecompany works; sharing these with leaders across the department.Laboratory records: ensuring that all records and information areup to date, on time and recorded to the correct standard.Supporting and encouraging others to achieve this.Laboratoryequipment: providing technical guidance to others within the teamon how to use equipment most effectively.* Reporting: communicatingand presenting research findings at meetings with colleagues,senior management and partners.* Adhere to safe working practicesin laboratories according to Immunocore EHS policies.PERSONSPECIFICATIONExperience & knowledgeEssential* Experience indevelopment of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and massspectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins orantibodies. * Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinantproteins or antibodies.* Independently coordinated extensivetesting of protein biomolecules.* Experienced in thecharacterisation of proteins expressed in both microbial andmammalian systems.* Understanding of expected post-translationalmodifications in biological systems.* Worked in a bench-basedbiopharmaceutical laboratory environment. * Established as anexpert amongst peers in one or more of the following areas: oelectrophoretic o chromatographic o mass spectrometry* Experiencedin assay development * Familiar with biopharmaceutical stabilitystudy principles and interpretation thereof* Worked and contributedactively in a diverse team environment* Proposed and driven changesin working practices that have improved efficiency, supported teamsthrough adoption and change* Presented detailed scientific findingsand papers to internal and external audiencesDesirable * Experienceof glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodiesExperience with late stage/commercial biopharmaceutical assaydevelopment and characterisation * Familiar with the principles ofGood Manufacturing Practise (GMP)Presented at externalconferences* Led a small project team, formally or informally,through a change in practice including project managementUnderstanding of analytical requirements to support materials foruse in clinical trialsEducation & qualificationsEssential:BSc.
