We are now looking for a Senior Scientist to join us on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week (part-time would be considered for the right candidate). This is for an initial 12 month, maternity cover contract which has the potential to transition into a permanent role.

The Role

As a Senior Scientist, you will lead day-to-day scientific activities, contributing to the company’s mission to accelerate the transition to 100% animal-free testing.

Specifically, you will oversee routine and bespoke in vitro studies, work closely with clients, partners, and suppliers to design and deliver projects that demonstrate the safety and efficacy of products and ingredients.

You will also lead studies from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality scientific outcomes, while adhering to our standard operating procedures and meeting established timelines.

Additionally, you will:

1. Contribute to research and development and the expansion of our portfolio of tests
2. Provide leadership and guidance to scientific team members
3. Analyse data and produce detailed scientific reports
4. Represent XCellR8 externally by presenting our scientific work

About You

To be considered as a Senior Scientist, you will need:

1. A PhD in a Life Science subject with at least two years’ post-doctoral work experience.
2. Extensive experience in cell culture and other in vitro techniques, ideally within the field of in vitro toxicology
3. Strong data analysis and technical skills
4. A commitment to developing and implementing human-relevant, scientifically advanced approaches to safety testing
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
