The Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager will be part of the Regulatory Compliance oversight function for the WPB line of business. The successful candidate will have a wide breadth of knowledge around Regulatory requirements related to Retail and will actively advise and challenge the UK WPB line of business to ensure all is in line with policy and procedure.

 

In this role you will:

  • Be accountable for application of the HSBC Risk Stewardship responsibilities for Compliance risks in relation to Unsecured Lending, Everyday Banking and M&S Bank.
  • Actively represent compliance in key Lines of Business governance, project and team meetings.
  • Use your Regulatory knowledge surrounding Retail Banking to advice and challenge the first line of defence on compliance risks.
  • Thorough ability to influence and attain buy-in from senior stakeholders on Regulatory compliance risks.
  • Build, maintain and manage a team of Compliance professionals.
  • Represent Compliance and HSBC in external engagements with Regulators and Industry Associations. 

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Knowledge of Compliance risks with additional understanding of Retail and Wealth business model including the operation of it’s products and channels.
  • Strong knowledge of Regulations related to retail banking including, Consumer Duty and Consumer Credit.
  • Proven experience liaising, influencing and attaining buy in from senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent understanding of HSBC’s non-financial risk management framework and Compliance policies.
  • Prior experience successfully managing a team.

 

This role is based in Birmingham on a hybrid working basis.
