On behalf of our client, a well-established engineering and construction firm that delivers complex, high-value projects across industries such as pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, industrial manufacturing, and commercial development, Blackfield Associates are seeking a Senior Project Planner. The Role:

The company is seeking aSenior Project Plannerto join their UK-based project team in Oxford. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in mechanical or process engineering planning, who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop, and manage detailed project schedules across all phases: design, pre-construction, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning
  • Support project managers in producing accurate, deliverable programme of works files
  • Produce labour histograms and detailed progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying risks or delays early
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners
  • Ensure adherence to planning procedures and company standards
  • Assist in identifying project delays or claims and support demonstration for resolution
  • Contribute to organisational growth through planning support on new and existing projects


Candidate Profile:

  • 5–7 years’ experience in a planning role within the construction industry, specifically in mechanical/process engineering
  • Proficient inPrimavera P6,Asta, andMicrosoft Project
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Confident in negotiation, scheduling, and time management
  • Comfortable using theMicrosoft 365suite
