Astute’s Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a key business and influential player in the UK anaerobic digestion/ biogas sector. To recruit a Senior Project Engineer to support a pipeline of projects across the UK, managing and overseeing all aspects of project delivery through to handover.

Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Project Engineer role

Reporting to the Head of Projects you will:

* Liaise with Site Operations, H&S and external contractors to oversee all aspects of project delivery,
* Plan and manage (alongside multi-functional teams) projects around day-to-day operations.
* Control and supervise key elements of project specification, in line with timelines and budgets.
* Coordinate internal resources and vendors for flawless execution, while directly driving continuous improvement.
* Monitor build progress and ensure project quality, regularly meeting with clients, stakeholders, and project managers to report on progress.
* Manage risks to avoid delays or reputational damage.
* Ensure necessary permits and legal papers are obtained.
* Travel to projects as required to oversee various activities.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering, or industrial experience deemed equivalent.
* Achieved, or working towards Chartership.
* NEBOSH/IOSH desirable.
* 5 plus years of proven experience in successfully delivering projects in line with timescales and budget.

Personal skills

The Senior Project Engineer role would suit someone who is:

* Full UK License is essential.
* A self-starter, able to create strategy and work well under pressure.
* Experience working on Projects within the Organics waste, pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil and Gas or food industry a considerable advantage.
* Civils experience
* Flexible to travel and stay away as required.
