Wood Process and Energy is recruiting a

Senior Process Engineer - PSC

to support our process engineering team in the Stockton office in a contract role.
Hybrid Working:

working from home and some days a week expected in our Stockton office.
We are looking for engineers with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance on projects across the full life cycle, from studies through FEED and EPC to ensure that Wood continues to differentiate itself from its competitors by delivering quality projects to our Client’s requirements.
Responsibilities

You will be joining project process teams and will have responsibilities for process delivery across all stages of the design process. The role will be on a contract basis and outside IR35.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the Lead Process Engineer on the delivery of projects. Ensure completion of tasks as assigned by the Lead Engineer.
Lead the process design activities on smaller scopes ensuring that design meets contractual, safety, and quality requirements and is delivered on time and within assigned budgets.
Understand the technical and commercial risks associated with project scopes and manage these risks through execution.
Ensure that designs satisfy all operational and safety requirements. Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed.
Execute assigned tasks within the budget and schedule, as well as maintain the technical quality of the submitted work.
Complete checking of calculations and deliverables as assigned. Ensure the checking of calculations and project deliverables is in accordance with Wood procedures.
Provide direction and guidance to junior members of the project team to help them complete assigned tasks.
Complete and/or check sizing calculations including compressible and incompressible hydraulics, vessels, tanks, pumps, control valves, and instrumentation. For Brownfield facilities, complete rating and sizing calculations for pumps, control valves, heat exchangers, etc.
Prepare relief calculations and other safety-related calculations.
Prepare critical process deliverables: Basis of Design, Process Flow Diagrams, Mass and Energy Balances, Equipment specifications, Design Philosophies, P&IDs, Line lists, Tie-in Lists.
Communicate effectively within a multi-discipline design team to complete assigned tasks.
When required, provide input to HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, and other safety reviews as directed.
Participate in technical meetings with a multi-discipline team to complete tasks.
Contribute where necessary to review of supplier quotations and reviews of supplier documentation to ensure it fulfills the project requirements.
Complete continuous improvement and professional development to meet the requirements of assigned tasks or understand new technology.

Qualifications

Who we are looking for:
Chemical Engineering Degree.
Chartered Chemical Engineer status preferred.
Experience of working on Conceptual, FEED, and EPC projects associated with the Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Energy, or Chemicals sectors. Experience in Carbon Capture and/or Hydrogen is considered to be a bonus.
Experience of the delivery of Brownfield and Greenfield projects.
Proven core Process Engineering skills and demonstrable design experience.
Self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and good organisational awareness. Ability to self-improve and develop knowledge and skills required to fulfill role.
Demonstrate an understanding of project delivery to take ownership of tasks and understand the impact on other deliverables and disciplines.
