Job Overview
The Senior Process Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring that the company’s proposals and designs are technically feasible. The role will include process design for PSA plants in oil and gas, refining and associated industries.
Key Responsibilities
Process Design:
Lead the development and optimisation of Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) systems for hydrogen purification, carbon capture and general gas purification.
Assistance in the design of PSA plants.
Provide technical documents such as Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), PFD and Process Block Diagrams, etc. for various projects.
Conduct detailed kinetic and isotherm modelling for process simulations.
Utilise ASPEN Adsorption, HYSYS, MATLAB, and VBA for process design, analysis, and optimisation.
Perform CFD simulations using SolidWorks to support system design.
Ensure adherence to ATEX system design standards for safety in explosive environments.
Analyse data for plant optimisation, focusing on maximising efficiency and minimizing downtime.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement process improvements and ensure project success.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop PSA solutions at both tender and contract stages.
Prepare detailed technical proposals including performance parameters.
Address customer-specific requirements, such as capacity, purity levels, energy consumption, and maintenance needs.
Analyse customer requirements and translate them into feasible solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Client Interaction:
Maintain and build relationships with existing and potential clients.
Understand client needs and provide solutions that align with their operational goals.
Education, Experience & Skills Required
Master’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering.
In-depth understanding of PSA/process systems, gas separation technologies.
Master’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering.
Advanced knowledge of carbon capture technologies and net zero emission solutions.
Proficiency in ASPEN Adsorption, HYSYS, Matlab, and VBA.
Advanced skills in kinetic and isotherm modelling for adsorption processes.
Experience in CFD simulation with SolidWorks.
Strong understanding of ATEX system design and its application in hazardous environments.
Proven ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot PSA plant systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, stakeholders, and teams.
Attention to Detail: Precision in documentation, calculations, and specifications.
