Job summary:

The PharmaEssentia Innovation Research Center is building a world-class new drug discovery team in Boston area. We are seeking a highly motivated and independent Senior/Principal Scientist in immunology/cancer pharmacology with a track record of scientific excellence in immunology or oncology, to join our team in Greater Boston, MA USA. As a key project team member, you will be focused on delivering all aspects of in vitro, in vivo, and ex-vivo pharmacology support. You will bring your theoretical and practical expertise to establish assay systems and deliver datasets that will have direct impact on the drug discovery process and pipeline.

Our new research center, PharmaEssentia Innovation Research Center (PIRC), aims to leverage our current expertise in oncology and immunology therapeutic areas to identify and develop novel therapeutic opportunities. Therefore, we are recruiting talented scientists who have deep knowledge in immunology, translational science, bioinformatics and biologics platforms to develop novel drugs through disease-driving biology, novel technology in protein engineering, antibody discovery and new modalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with in-house data scientists and or CRO to identify new targets for new project initiation.
  • Design and conduct POC study for target validation.
  • Assist discovery project leaders to set up goals and objectives for the achievement of project milestones.
  • Support cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with project leaders to ensure the timely and dissemination of critical program data.
  • Stay up to date with relevant technical and intellectual scientific expertise in Immune-oncology and Pharmacology and have a genuine passion for this field of research.
  • Prepare and deliver clear and accurate scientific presentations for internal and external use.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in oncology, immunology, immuno-oncology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline.
  • 9+ years of relevant post-PhD experience in industry.
  • Demonstrated scientific capability as evidenced by high-quality independent research and high impact peer-reviewed scientific publications, presentations, projects as a leading contributor.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of immunology, autoimmunity and cancer biology.
  • Extensive hand-on experiences in the initiation and leading drug discovery projects in the industry setting.
  • Strong track record of success in leading projects achieving discovery/development milestones.
  • Work independently, assess and report data in a clear and concise manner, with a clear understanding of its implications within the overall context of drug discovery.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills together with evidence of delivery in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: impactful oral and written communication.
