Specialist Recruitment Consultant at Halian Technologies

Halian Technologies is seeking an experiencedSenior Principal Business Developmentprofessional for a 12-month contract role within our client’s Global Acceptance & Business Development team, based in London (Hybrid).

We are looking for a motivated and commercially astute individual with strong sales, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills to drive our client’s acceptance growth across key verticals in the UK. This role is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of business development, partnerships, and payment solutions in a global organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a direct-to-merchant sales strategy to increase network acceptance
  • Build, manage, and convert a robust pipeline of merchant opportunities
  • Create and present compelling business cases to internal stakeholders (including Pricing, Risk, AML)
  • Negotiate and execute agreements with UK merchants
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure deals are closed and KPIs are met
  • Maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support long-term revenue growth
  • Represent Discover at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences

Key Requirements

  • 5–10 years' experience in business development, partnerships, or sales
  • Proven expertise in contract negotiation, client presentations, deal execution, and pipeline management
  • Strong background in payments, with a deep understanding of merchant acquisition and network acceptance
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Skilled in stakeholder management across the global organisation
  • Contract (long term)
  • Hybrid (London-based)
