Role Overview

A global pharmaceutical company is seeking aSenior Pricing & Contracting Managerto lead the development and implementation of pricing and contracting strategies across the UK, Ireland, and Malta for a defined portfolio of products. This is a high-impact role focused on shaping market access strategy, ensuring commercial viability, and supporting early access at optimal pricing levels.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development:

  • Define and lead pricing and contracting strategy aligned with broader corporate and commercial goals.
  • Set clear priorities, objectives, and KPIs for the function in a matrix organisational setup.


Lifecycle Pricing Strategy:

  • Lead on pricing strategy from early pipeline stages through launch and loss of exclusivity.
  • Design and implement Patient Access Schemes (PAS) and recommend optimal approaches for in-market and mature products.


Market Access Integration:

  • Apply strong understanding of healthcare systems, pricing, and reimbursement frameworks in the UK, Ireland, and Malta, including relevant national schemes and agreements.
  • Provide strategic input into HTA submissions, integrated customer planning, brand strategy, and post-LOE considerations.


Contracting Innovation:

  • Develop innovative contracting solutions tailored to the evolving payer landscape.
  • Identify risk-sharing opportunities and lead cross-functional teams in reassessing and refining current strategies.


Centre of Excellence Engagement:

  • Influence global pricing direction by adapting corporate guidance to local market needs.
  • Oversee projects with third-party vendors and contribute to internal training and capability building.


Forecasting & Assumptions:

  • Deliver timely and robust pricing assumptions for the pipeline portfolio and products approaching LOE.


Experience & Skills Required

  • Substantial experience in pharmaceutical pricing, market access, or consultancy roles
  • Proven track record in launch pricing, including for pipeline products
  • Knowledge of LOE dynamics and competitive tender processes
  • Familiarity with innovative pricing mechanisms and contracting methodologies
  • Strong understanding of Gross-to-Net concepts and commercial implications
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder influencing skills
  • Analytical mindset with ability to work cross-functionally in complex environments
  • Commercially focused, with the ability to balance access and profitability
