As aSenior Mechanical Engineeryou will be responsible for the Design & Development of mechanical systems for coding and marking equipment:

• Conduct feasibility studies and test, on new and modified designs.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
• Provide designs for detailed drawings and manufacturing data.

The role will be based in our Huntingdon office (office and lab-based work).

In this role, a typical day will look like

• Mechanical Engineering theoretical analysis.
• Generating innovative design concepts and solutions
• Detail design of concepts and final product parts using CAD (Solidworks)
• Initiating and evaluating DFMEA, DFM, DFA, etc
• Detail drawing with GD&T of designs, and updating or checking drawings.
• Prototype and testing of designs with detail test plan and report.
• Participate in events such as problem-solving tasks and other project events.
• Working with team members and other departments, including mentoring/supporting Junior Engineers and Technicians.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
• Significant practical experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in CAD, ideally Solidworks, and other engineering tools
• Experience in technical detailing including GD&T
• Theoretical and practical experience in the design and analysis of mechanical components and systems
