About the role

This full-time senior laboratory position is funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is available immediately. The post holder will provide leadership, technical expertise and oversight to a multidisciplinary team engaged in world leading translational pre-clinical research that aims to protect the brain in newborn babies deprived of oxygen. The post holder will liaise directly with the Research Lead and promote good working relationships with the team and national and international collaborators. Salary is £52, inclusive of LW. This role is an open-ended contract with a funding end date of This role is not eligible for hybrid working as it needs to be % on site and on a night shift rota. About you

We are looking for an experienced technician with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to support a busy neuroprotective lab based at the Institute of Neurology. Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills and flexible attitude to shift work and unsocial hours ( 8pm to 8am) are essential. Previous experience in pre-clinical in-vivo techniques and possession of Home Office personal licence is essential. Applicants should hold a BSc in a relevant biological discipline or higher.
