The Role

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, etc.
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs and mark up measured drawings.
  • Request, manage and evaluate supplier and sub-contractor quotations.
  • Issue tender queries and RFIs.
  • Prepare costed bill of quantities.
  • Prepare tender reports, tender pricing schedules and other tender return documents.
  • Advise on potential value engineering opportunities.
  • Manage database.
  • Attend meetings and site visits when required.
  • Adhere to tender return deadlines.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider project teams.
  • Manage mechanical estimators and delegate team workload.


Experience Required

  • 5 years of Mechanical Estimating Experience
  • Strong computer skills, especially in the use of MS Office.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical & process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing and other mechanical building services systems.
  • Good knowledge of different mechanical & process pipework materials.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, perform accurate take-offs, and prepare detailed BOQs.
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Must display excellent time management, communication, numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
