RSK RAW offers multi-disciplinary environmental protection and risk reduction services to a wide range of industries and clients across the UK, and are specialists in the provision of spill response, contamination investigation and remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rapid response to environmental incidents in a variety of urban and rural settings. Supervision, direction and support of colleagues and hands-on physical work undertaking incident mitigation works.
  • Pro-active assessment of pollution risks to the environment and the application of a variety of techniques for containing and recovering oils or other contaminants of concern. Decision making to be recorded and communicated to relevant stakeholders in timely and accurate fashion.
  • Hands-on planning, supervision and support of general groundworks / site activities along with recording clear and concise field notes and communicating frequently with the Project Manager, Project Team Leader, or senior colleagues.
  • Support the undertaking of additional fieldwork activities including environmental monitoring, sample collection and logging (soil, water, and air samples), and supervision of subcontractors.
  • Installation and maintenance of soil and groundwater remediation systems.
  • Lead operative during tank inspection and leakproof testing works.
  • Other site responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
    • Waste management and Duty of Care record keeping
    • Inspection and maintenance of oil storage areas; electrical transformer bunds; oil water separators & interceptors and associated infrastructure
    • Decontamination / deep cleaning works
    • Drainage / utilities inspection.
  • Routine maintenance and / or calibration of equipment and vehicles.
  • Stock management and record keeping.
  • Preparation of written reports, purchase orders, proposals, and general correspondence.
  • Adherence to RSK Raw management systems, including site specific and point of work health & safety risk assessments and method statements.
  • Maintaining accurate site notes, and excellent time management, organisational and communication skills at all times.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with clients and interested parties, including ensuring a high standard of work and presentation.
  • In addition to your normal duties, you may occasionally be required to undertake additional work necessary to meet the needs of the business.

Additional information:

  • We operate a 24/7 response service for our clients, as such you may be required to work out of normal operating hours, for which you are compensated.
  • Although regionally focussed, there will be a need for travel to cover the needs of the business throughout England, Scotland, and Wales.
  • The occasional need to stay away from home when required.
  • Incident response and tank testing training is provided, and other training and development opportunities will be available.
  • Opportunities available for collaborative working with other Response and Remediation businesses with the RSK Group.


Qualifications/Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience (experience in the spill response / pollution control industry desirable but other, relevant, experience will be considered)
  • A full, clean driving licence (essential)
  • Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel (essential)
  • Utilities / Civils / Construction site experience (desirable)
  • Excavator / dumper experience / certification (desirable)
  • Basic project management experience (desirable)
  • BSc in relevant environmental field (desirable)
  • CSCS (desirable)
  • First aid (desirable)


Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary Up to £35,000 depending on experience
