Senior Engineer HVAC - Engineering & Technical Services - £40,000 - £55,000 + Benefits - Macclesfield, Cheshire SK10


The Role

As a Senior HVAC Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of HVAC energy efficiency projects worldwide in the pharmaceutical industry. Your role combines technical leadership, consultancy, and project management, making you a key player in our journey towards sustainable engineering solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Delivery (80% of the role):

  • Understanding client needs, formulating innovative solutions, and presenting technical information logically and compellingly.
  • Sharing demonstrable knowledge (such as recent used/test cases) both on build and design on a regular basis with the team (a Subject Matter Expert on HVAC systems).
  • Developing bespoke solutions and innovative designs to meet client needs aligning with cutting-edge technical approaches.
  • Facilitating & providing technical expertise on Energy Kaizen Leadership and HVAC systems.
  • Reporting on Engineering KPIs by reviewing the data collection phases and quality of the technical work.
  • Applying expertise in engineering complex GMP-compliant HVAC systems for building services.
  • Leading stakeholder discussions with clients on the technical delivery and progress.
  • Working on client site to facilitate projects (both nationally and internationally).
  • Working closely with the Engineering Manager to develop the technical expertise.
  • Responsible for adoption of best practice (technical) and adoption by the engineering team to maintain consistency and quality of deliverables
  • Supporting the Business's ISO 9001 status for consistent quality delivery.

Business Operations 10%

  • Working closely and collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), operations (PMO) and sales team to ensure effective operations to support current and future client engagements, by helping to develop project resources.
  • Participating in weekly Engineering Team Management meetings and taking responsibility for delivering agreed actions and reporting.
  • Supporting business risk management through identification and mitigation activities.
  • Assisting in a culture of innovation and excellence and maintaining EECO2 Global SME status

Supporting Business Growth 10%:

  • Collaborating with the SLT and wider teams to implement short and long-term plans, focusing on value propositions.
  • Support of EECO2 Pharma HVAC SME status by maintaining industry leading knowledge related to the Pharma/Lifesciences industry.
  • Identifying improvement areas across the business
  • Attending conferences on HVAC systems and energy efficiency.

The Person

  • Proven expertise in HVAC energy efficiency & Good Manufacturing Processes within the pharmaceutical/life sciences sectors.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of leading technical discussions and mentoring team members.
  • Willingness to travel and work on international projects.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's/Master's Engineering Degree or related field, with MCIBSE/FCIBSE or Equivalent, IMechE, or Chartered Engineer status.


Desirable:

  • Client-facing experience.
  • Proficiency with Information Management Systems.
  • Experience from other utilities/cross-industry domains.
  • Familiarity with UK and EU Directives and standards.
