Role - Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Services)
Location - Birmingham
Salary - £45k - £60k (DOE)

Overview

We're working with a leading national MEP consultancy that's actively expanding its electrical design team at its flagship Birmingham office. With over 120 staff on-site-including 90 engineers across three multidisciplinary teams-this is a rare opportunity to join a highly regarded and well-resourced team at a pivotal time of growth.

Driven by upcoming retirements, the business is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to strengthen project delivery and mentor junior engineers within the Birmingham office. The team delivers complex, sustainability-focused designs across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, pharmaceutical, and residential.

With a strong pipeline of work and cross-office collaboration as standard, this role offers technical challenge, client-facing responsibility, and genuine scope for progression.

Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll play a lead role in project delivery-managing client relationships, contributing to multi-disciplinary design teams, and supporting junior staff. You'll work on a diverse range of projects, producing design calculations, specifications, and drawings using industry-standard software packages.

You'll also support key technical decision-making, promote design quality, and contribute to the continued development of the Solihull electrical team.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (HNC/HND with strong experience also considered)

Minimum 3-4 years' experience in electrical building services design

Proficiency in Amtech, Revit, Dialux/Relux, and Microsoft Office

Strong understanding of HV/LV systems, renewables integration, and UK building standards

Experience in client-facing roles and project delivery

Professional membership (IET, CIBSE) with progress toward chartership preferred

Working knowledge of BREEAM and low-carbon technologies beneficial

Excellent communication and team leadership skills
