Senior Bioprocess Scientist - Biology and Engineering

Newton Colmore is working with a biotechnology innovator in Stevenage and is searching for a scientist to join their bioprocess development team.

As a senior scientist in this company, you will be working closely with the VP of Science and work on complex bioprocess development challenges so that the company can manufacture novel molecules for a range of modalities and therapeutic areas. To begin, you will be familiarising yourself with the company's technology platform, which involves suspension mammalian cell culturing, transfection, filtration, diafiltration and chromatography, before becoming fully integrated into the team to take on more responsibilities and lead process development.

You will be using your experience to work on the science of their technology, from eureka moment and initial ideation, through to delivery and manufacture. You will take charge of the full development process and will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team, all aiming to make a step change with new ideas.

It is a start-up environment which means you will gain exposure to other areas of the business and will give you the opportunity to learn and grow as a scientist.

To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have experience with controlled cell behaviour, various expression systems and chromatographic protein purification, coupled with biochemistry or cell biology academics. Ideally you will have some form of industry experience to complement your skills.
