Position: Senior Account Director
Location: London (hybrid – 1 or 2 days in the office)

Senior Account Director -

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-growing boutique medical communications agency! As an experienced member of the client services team, you'll have the flexibility to shape your role around your strengths while playing a pivotal part in driving the continued success and growth of the division.

The Senior Account Director plays a crucial role within the company. You will bring exceptional account management skills and the ability to deliver strategic direction, ensuring impactful results. Managing various projects, you will take pride in delivering outstanding medical communications projects (including congress activities, training materials, websites, iDetail aids and digital applications) while staying highly organised and proactive to meet client needs. Driven to develop and exceed expectations across all accounts, you will serve as a mentor and role model to the junior team, setting the standard for quality and client service excellence.

Role & Responsibilities:
Has a thorough level of understanding of the medical communication and education environment, the healthcare community and the role of pharmaceutical companies in the provision of healthcare services
Client liaison and consulting on the strategic direction of accounts under your remit, gaining the respect and trust of the clients
Working closely with clients and healthcare professionals to understand their needs and translate these into opportunities for developing high-quality medical communication solutions
Developing an understanding of new therapy areas quickly and comprehensively, inspiring confidence in clients
Contributes and oversees the development, management, logistics and content of a range of medical communications projects
Shows thoroughness in developing tactical plans, including budgets and timelines
Maintain a strategic overview of account(s), proactively advise clients on new issues/external environment and contribute to strategic planning meetings with client
Leading new business initiatives, including attendance and presentation at pitch meetings
Help drive new business development. Explore opportunities with former clients and contacts as much as possible
Play an active role in new business pitches, leading on specific elements
Manage and take proactive steps to maximise client profitability through accurate budgeting and budget tracking
Lead and motivate supervised staff to fulfil their potential and assume responsibility and accountability appropriate to their position
Conduct appraisal interviews and monitor appraisal objectives, recommending training where required

Requirements:
Degree (science, preferably life science)
High level of drive, motivation, and initiative
Ability to motivate, lead by example, train, mentor, develop and share best practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Expert presentation skills
Ability to problem-solve effectively and make decisions
Awareness of industry guidelines and best practice and their application
Significant experience working in Medical Communications (agency/pharma)
