Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager is responsible for Sales of Teledyne Marine Vehicles products in the UK with a primary focus on UK defense sector. In addition to UK responsibilites other areas including Middle East, Australia and other European support directly and through distributors may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Further develop UK defense sector penetration of Teledyne Marine Vehicles including Gavia / Osprey /SeaRaptor AUVs, APEX floats, and Slocum gliders.
  • Build and expand relationships with existing RN stakeholders
  • Build and expand relationships with UK and European Prime Contractors
  • Build and maintain an active pipeline in a CRM, Salesforce, to exceed orders and sales targets on a quarterly, and annual basis
  • Manage and generate proposals / Quotes / RFP’s
  • Manage Capture Leads for RFPs
  • Provide accurate booking forecasts and keep up-to-date customer and pipeline records
  • Understand fully the benefits and functionality of each of the products in Teledyne Marine Vehicles portfolio and how they position within the market.
  • Actively manage the channels to ensure they are fully engaged, optimized and driven to succeed
  • Orchestrate and hold technical seminars, product presentations and customer demonstrations direct and in conjunction with partners and channels
  • Remain informed of competitor status, products, advantages and weaknesses
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of market conditions and trends. * Identify opportunities and capture market share growth while collaborating with the Teledyne Marine businesses to optimize efforts.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or scientific field

Experience

  • 10+ years of sales or other relevant experience.
  • UK / NATO member naval experience desired with knowledge and connections within UK MCM, ASW, METOC, Hydrographic communities.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal acumen, communicate effectively from entry level to C-suite customers.
  • Excellent communication ability written as well as verbal and ability to work in a fast paced international organization.
  • Ability to have or attain good comprehension of technical and maritime issues.
  • Understanding and experience with Government RFP / PQQ / Contracting procedures and strategies
  • Experience with Miller Heiman Strategic Selling process desired

  • Ability to provide timely and accurate booking forcast
