Reporting to the Managing Director, a newly created role of Sales Director has been opened to grow and manage sales of manufacturing equipment to the Life Science Sector across the UK & Ireland. The company supplies best in class capital equipment to the final assembly, fill, finish, and test areas of pharmaceutical manufacturing to include packaging inspection, automation, sterilisation, and packaging equipment.


Aims & Objectives of the Life Science Sales Director UK & Ireland, you will be responsible for:


  • Growing the Life Sciences Business Unit Equipment Sales in the UK & Ireland
  • Review and Add Suppliers to the Life Sciences Product Range
  • Grow “The Life Science Brand” in all key accounts – especially T1 & T2 Pharmaceutical Manufacturing accounts
  • Liaise with customers and keep them up-dates on the order status and projects
  • Manage 1 Irish Life Sciences Salesperson and the Irish Equipment Suppliers
  • Increase sales and direct interaction with major pharmaceutical manufacturing sites in the UK and Ireland – build “relationships” and sell equipment
  • Develop, Present and Execute the Sales Plan and strategy to grow Sales in Life Sciences over the next 3 to 5 years – showing all major milestones and KPI’s.
  • Manage Life Sciences Suppliers & Product Range.


Person Specification:

The following knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience are essential for success in this role:


  • Proven experience as a Senior Sales Professional undertaking Business to Business, capital equipment sales into the regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing industry at the back end of the manufacturing process i.e. pharmaceutical fill, finish, sterilisation, packaging, vial filling, vial capping, solid dose packaging etc
  • Must have a current and sound contact network of Key Decision Makers having already sold machines/capital equipment into the final assembly, fill, test, and finish areas within Tier 1 Pharmaceutical, manufacturing companies such as Astra Zeneca, GSK etc.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland to execute sales, people, and supplier management
  • Full clean UK driving licence and valid passport with the ability to work permanently in the UK without sponsorship
  • Above all a highly motivated Scientific Sales Leader with a professional, customer-focused approach, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of growing £multi-million-pound equipment sales for a distributor company or an equipment manufacturer with multiple product line offerings
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
