Collingham Medical Centre are looking for a committed GP to join our friendly team. The position is in addition to our current team due to a reduction in hours. We are happy to consider a salaried or partner role and are looking 2-6 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the Practice Team you will provide primary healthcare services to patientsin all required environments. You will be expected to participate in Practice activitiesincluding clinical and staff meetings, audits, and relevant CPD activities; you will also takea role in the development of the Practice. In addition, you will be expected to participate inthe Practices activities relating to its function as a training practice.

Daily Clinical Responsibilities:

Running surgeries, listening to and questioning patients sensitively.

Referring patients to specialist services in hospitals.

Maintaining patient confidentiality and impartiality.

Planning and providing appropriate treatment.

Commissioning health care by liaising with medical professionals in the community andhospitals.

Promoting health education in conjunction with other health professionals.

Organising preventative medical programmes for individual patients.

Keeping up to date with medical developments, new drugs, treatments andmedications, including complementary medicine; Discussing the introduction of new pharmaceutical products to our formulary with ourSuperintendent Pharmacist and liaising with them.

Observing and assessing the work of trainee general practitioners (GPs) and medicalstudents;

Attendance and participation in practice meetings. Partners meetings and business/strategic planning.

About us

We are a five partner rural medical centre (expanding to 6). A GMS, part dispensing, research and muliti professional teaching practice including GPStR and medical students with regular educational sessions. A list size of 7900 patients we offer 15 minute appointments, 13 appointments per session and one admin session a week for a six session GP (5 clinical sessions).

As part of our continual process of improvement we have invested in an automated system to improve our recall, prescribing and pathology reliability and save clinician time.

Active partners within the Newark PCN, with a full time clinical pharmacist, input from FCPs, Nursing associates, Social prescribers a comprehensive PCN Care Homes team lead by an experienced ANP and a local home visiting service.

Nurse lead chronic disease management. Minor Surgery, Warfarin monitoring, Coils/Implants, joint injections.

Excellent spacious purpose built partner owned premises.

Easily commutable from Nottingham, Lincoln and Newark.

Meeting targets set by the government for specific treatments, e.g. childimmunisations, Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF).

Managing resources to service the targets as effectively as possible.

Providing advice on medical care, including immunisations for those travelling abroad.

Supporting the specialist clinics for specific conditions or for certain groups, e.g.diabetes or new babies, within practice.

Using IT skills - will be expected to have basic abilities for work such as maintainingpatients' records in SystmOne.

Keeping up to date with medical developments, new drugs, treatments andmedications, including complementary medicine.

Discussing the introduction of new pharmaceutical products to our formulary with ourSuperintendent Pharmacist and liaising with them daily.

Observing and assessing the work of trainee general practitioners (GPs) and medicalstudents; and maintaining a portfolio of continuing professional development (CPD) activities workingtowards reaccreditation.

Attendance and participation in practice meetings, partners meetings and business/strategic planning.
