How you will contribute
You will use your considerable technical knowledge and expertise to identify, develop and create new business opportunities and to identify, define and solve complex business problems. As a leader on complex projects and/or scientific activities, you will organize, execute, and interpret assignments to yield outstanding results and impact business goals, and form multidisciplinary project teams to solve complex technical problems or to explore the use of technology to meet business goals. As a technical leader in your field, you will maintain your knowledge of developments inside and outside the company that are pertinent to the job through continuous education and training and take new research ideas and findings, and communicate and “sell” them to the organization for growth, quality or margin improvement. As a people leader, you will mentor and guide the work of junior team members and ensure the technical execution and quality of their work, and sponsor and champion external and internal research and fundamental knowledge building to influence future business development strategies.

What you need to know about this position:
This role is one of our senor technical experts leading R&D to achieve Mondelez's vision to be the Global Snacking Leader, winning in Chocolate, Biscuits & Baked Snacks.
Senior member of our Technical Leadership Council,
Coaching and developing the technical talent in the company
Leveraging technical foresightsto drive our technical agenda and technical excellence within the company. Includes supply chain resilience activities.
Leads discovery level projects using scientific fundamentals to build our capability and make strong business decisions
Driving excellence as a subject matter expert
Drives our Mindful Snacking and Nutrition agenda by using knowledge in flavour chemistry and flavoromics, with a focus on flavour generation and regulation, as well as their impact on sensory characteristics and consumer perception of food.
Develops and implements programmes that correspond with our Sustainability objective using a thorough understanding of flavour ingredient supply chains from source to processing. This covers interactions within the flavour development and production processes, with a focus on sustainable flavour extraction and synthesis.
Maintains an external perspective by embracing innovative scientific approaches and collaborating strategically across industries. This approach not only creates new flavour opportunities, but it also encourages development projects that establish and strengthen competitive advantages.

Scientific-technological skill areas
Analytical Chemistry: Expertise in techniques like gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to identify and quantify flavour compounds in various matrices.
Sensory Science: Skills in sensory evaluation techniques to understand how flavour compounds influence consumer perception and preferences.
Molecular Biology and Biochemistry: Knowledge of the biochemical pathways and interactions that influence flavour formation and stability in food products.
Statistical Data Analysis: Proficiency in statistical methods to interpret complex datasets derived from flavoromic studies, enabling the identification of flavour compound patterns and their impacts.
Supply Chain Awareness: Understanding of the entire lifecycle of flavour ingredients from cultivation through processing, emphasizing sustainable practices and the impact on flavour profiles.
Food Processing Knowledge: Insight into how food processing operations, including extraction, concentration, and thermal treatment, affect the integrity and efficacy of flavour compounds.
Product Development: Ability to integrate flavoromic data with product design to optimize flavour delivery, stability, and consumer satisfaction.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Engaging with professionals from various fields such as agriculture, nutrition, and environmental science to enhance the understanding and application of flavoromics in food systems.
