TheRegulatory Affairs Specialistwill join the Regulatory Affairs function at our UK headquarters in Market Drayton, Shropshire.(A ‘Hybrid’ working model applies with 3 days per week on site.)


As part of Legal and Compliance team reporting to the UK Regulatory Affairs lead, you will be responsible for assuring regulatory compliance of all marketing related materials including advertising, claims and packaging. You will also answer regulatory enquiries, provide regulatory support and updates as necessary and be the go-to expert on food labelling matters. The role would be ideal for a Graduate with a keen interest in food law.


Key responsibilities for the Regulatory Affairs Specialist: -
•Approval of marketing materials, product packaging, artwork and labelling for branded products.
•Approval of advertising materials under the direction of the Head of Regulatory Affairs (RA).
•Provide advice on food labelling, standards and composition issues as well as on food safety matters under direction.
•Provide support to include training sessions/workshops.
•Provide regulatory support to the Communication & Consumer Care Teams as required.
•Ensure that products produced under license are labelled and marked in accordance with customer requirements and policies.
•Provide support to the Quality/Operations Teams to ensure the food safety of raw materials and finished products e.g specification approvals, update on new legislation, allergen control issues etc.
•Manage the raw material sign off process to include raising issues, managing queries and attendance and input at monthly meetings.
•Provide advice and support as require to Group Colleagues to improve their knowledge.


Key skills and experience for the Regulatory Affairs Specialist:
•Relevant food science/food law qualifications and/or experience in a related field ideally coupled with experience in a regulatory affairs working environment
•Keen interest in food/regulatory issues
•Commercial awareness of the food industry
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Customer service-oriented and committed to providing an outstanding level of service to all
•High attention to detail
•Ability to manage multiple project and responsibilities to tight deadlines.
•Friendly, approachable and flexible - a team player
•Pro-active, positive, enthusiastic – demonstrating a “can do” attitude.
