Laboratory Technician for the food industry required, based near Amesbury. Requiring a degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Natural Sciences or similar and an enthusiastic and proactive mind set. Any industrial laboratory experience in the food industry would be advantageous but not essential.

Title: R&D Laboratory Technician

Location: Amesbury, Wiltshire

Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

SRG is exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturer in the food industry who are now looking to hire a Laboratory Technician to join the R&D team at their site near Amesbury. This exciting Laboratory Technician opportunity would be well suited to a recent scientific graduate who is passionate about the food industry and keen to kick-start their career in a laboratory.

Enhanced pension contributions, company bonus scheme, 38.75 working hours per week with 25 days holiday + bank holidays (with the option to buy up to 5 extra days holiday).

Role / Description

Supporting senior members of staff with customer development briefs
Mixing and preparing samples in the laboratory
Working with the applications laboratory to test samples in food products
Maintaining the raw materials and consumables databases
Ordering supplies and general housekeeping of the laboratory.Requirements

Recently graduated in Chemistry, Food Science, Natural Sciences, Biochemistry or similar
An obvious passion for food science and/or the wider food industry
Accuracy in weighing and measuring out raw materials
Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to learn
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with a multitude of departments
Able to multi-task and change priorities quickly depending on business need.
