Quality Assurance Manager

Bespak is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager on the Holmes Chapel site, CW4 8BE. The salary range for this permanent, onsite role is between £85k to £90k plus a discretionary annual bonus. Other benefits you will receive are 25 days leave plus bank holidays, a generous 10% pension contribution, onsite free parking, and medical / dental / health / life assurance.

Days Working Pattern – Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with some flexibility on the start and finish times for a 37.5 hour week (8 hours a day with a 30 min unpaid break).

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead the QA function at the Holmes Chapel site, ensuring full compliance with cGMP across all operations. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to drive GMP standards and continuous improvement, managing a team of up to 30 QA experts, including Qualified Persons (QP). Your responsibilities include overseeing QC testing, production, and warehouse operations, managing product quality risks, and ensuring efficient product release through a team of Qualified Persons. Ultimately, you'll be responsible for maintaining a strong GMP culture and driving improvements aligned with the company's quality strategy.

Bespak in Holmes Chapel is an Investors in People Silver Award-winning pharmaceutical CDMO with over 350 employees, currently going through a period of significant site expansion. We are investing heavily to increase our capacity for developing and manufacturing sustainable pMDIs (asthma inhalers) with greener propellants, meeting the evolving standards of the industry, while providing comprehensive development, manufacturing, filling, and finishing solutions for a range of medical devices, including SMIs, DPIs, nasal sprays, and medical check valves.

As a Quality Assurance Manager, your duties will include:

• Lead QA function ensuring cGMP compliance across site operations.
  
  
• Manage product quality risks and ensure timely product release.
  
  
• Provide strategic leadership for GMP and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  
• QA oversight of QC testing, production, and warehouse.
  
  
• Coach and develop QA team, including Qualified Persons (QP) ensuring competency growth.
  
  
• Ensure operational activities align with cGMP and quality strategy.

• In-depth understanding of cGMP within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  
  
• Experience in product introduction and validation processes.

• Relevant qualification and /or extensive QA management experience.

  Holmes Chapel is a beautiful village in Cheshire with excellent transport links via its railway station on the Crewe-Manchester Line, proximity to the motorway network and Manchester Airport. The National Parks of the Peak District, Lake District and Eryri (Snowdonia) are within easy reach. The village has a population of nearly 7,000 and offers various amenities, including supermarkets, shops, restaurants, schools, and a GP practice.
  
  This could suit someone with experience as a QA Operations Manager, GMP Compliance / Senior QA / Operations Manager roles, QP with some Managerial experience or a Head of Quality Assurance.
