To provide support and guidance to operational areas in accordance with the approved Business Management System and application of the internal audit programme, ensuring continual improvement is effectively applied.
Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver the stated quality aims of company policies, external requirements and adopted third party certification schemes
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance / control processes and procedures
  • Setting and implementing internal/external quality requirements to ensure company products/services meet customer expectations
  • Production and development of the annual audit programme that fully encompasses all relevant functions and processes within the organisation and within the external supply chain
  • Management and verification of the company audit team and planning / allocation of audits in accordance with the defined schedule
  • Ensuring training and skill set of internal audit team is maintained and applied appropriately
  • Conducting internal and external audits
  • Ensuring the quality of audit processes and report generation, providing coaching to internal audit team as appropriate
  • Liaison with Procurement to ensure a robust supplier pre-qualification scheme is managed and maintained
  • Liaison with operational and procurement functions with regards to material and product specification ensuring the required quality standards are met
  • Reporting on quality control performance and the continual compliance for company operations
  • Supporting operational disciplines with the development, implementation and maintenance of system processes and procedures
  • Provision of support to the commercial tendering and bid process in relation to quality management requirements
  • To ensure effective management of designated quality assurance / quality control, document control and management system personnel providing guidance and support
  • Organisation and liaison with all external accreditation bodies to manage certification schemes, recertification and periodic audit programmes, inclusive of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / Achilles Verify (FPAL & UVDB) / ISO 27001 / TickIt / PED & other industry standards
  • To identify and report any deficiencies or urgent matters relating to accreditation compliance, matters associated with the business management system or quality compliance
  • To ensure full utilisation of internal reporting systems to capture all quality related data, such as audit findings, non-conformities, observations, improvement opportunities
  • Supports investigations and remedial actions for quality failures
  • Development of contractual and project related quality documentation, including quality management plans and inspection and test plans
  • Establish processes for sampling, recording and reporting of quality data
  • Monitoring compliance towards inspection and test plans to provide assurance of defined activities
  • Ensure the required corrective action is identified and monitored for effective close out to address deficiencies, customer complaints and non-conformities
  • Aid the realisation and delivery of quality KPI's, targets and objectives
  • Ensuring the effective communication of quality management and accreditation matters within the organisation
  • Point of contact for quality assurance matters and quality system performance with all internal and external organisations
  • Advising on compliance with applicable legislation, standards and industry best practice
  • Overseeing lessons learnt and best practice processes to aid continual learning within the business
  • Presentation and delivery of quality management system data and related QA performance statistical data and reports
  • Support with identification and delivery of quality related training as appropriate
  • Maintains links with relevant external/professional bodies, identifying and implementing best practice and leading improvements to support business strategy



Experience & Qualifications

  • 10 year's experience in quality / business management, system development and auditing
  • Experience / understanding of management system standards, accreditation schemes and quality control processes
  • Industry experience
  • IT literacy, innovation and pragmatism
  • Recognised quality qualification
  • Recognised Lead Auditor Qualification (e.g. IRCA Auditor)
  • Member of Chartered Quality Institute(Desirable)
