Title: Quality Assurance Assistant

Location: Kidderminster, Worcestershire

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience)


SRG is exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing food manufacturing business who are now looking to hire a Quality Assurance Assistant to join the team at their site near Kidderminster. The role is an office-based role, working with multiple departments including Production, R&D, QC and H&S. This exciting opportunity would be well suited to a recent scientific graduate who is passionate about the food industry and keen to kick-start their career outside of a laboratory environment.


Benefits: Graduate opportunity with full training provided and lots of potential to develop skills in Food Quality Assurance in a supportive and inclusive environment. 6% employer pension, 40 working hours per week (8:30am – 5pm), with holiday allowance increasing with length of service.


Role / Description

  • Internal auditing of the production facilities to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Maintain the on-site QMS (Quality Management System)
  • Respond to customer queries promptly, with timely completion of required documentation such as customer questionnaires
  • Handle customer complaints, ensuring effective management through to completion
  • Maintain and update product specifications for new and existing products
  • Effectively liaise with multiple departments in the business to translate complex information succinctly
  • Support with external regulatory audits
  • Other quality assurance tasks as required to support the team.


Requirements

  • Recent graduate in Chemistry, Food Science, Natural Sciences, Biochemistry or similar
  • An obvious passion for food science and/or the wider food industry
  • Excellent communication skills, possessing the ability to translate complex information
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to learn
  • Organised and process-driven with high attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task and change priorities quickly depending on business need.
