Analytical QC Chemist
Lancashire area - Commutable by car from Burnley, Blackburn and North Manchester
Salary - £25,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)
Permanent
35 hours per week Monday - Friday
SRG is working with a global manufacturer of chemicals with products ranging from basic chemical products to advanced high-performance materials. Based in the Lancashire area, they have recently started hiring for a new member of their quality team. This opportunity would suit someone with an analytical chemistry background with some industrial experience. You will join a close-knit team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with opportunities to work on a wide range of processes within the organisation. Applications encouraged from people with previous experience in chromatography techniques preferably from within the chemicals industry.
Role Description
Carry out laboratory work efficiently within the safety policies and quality procedures of the business.
Make in-process adjustments as required.
Report results through Analytical database, laboratory notebook system and the company's computer system
Work as a team member with the Analytical/QC Staff
Generation of Analytical Repairs
Providing a process control and finished product testing service to the Production department.
Providing an Analytical service to our Sales, Maintenance and A&D departments.
Support the Environmental Monitoring System primarily monitoring emissions to air and water.
Supporting the COSHH Monitoring System primarily monitoring exposure to chemicals and noise for workplace and personnel.
Developing new methods when needed to support changes in Business requirements/new products.
Providing basic maintenance/repair to Analytical Instrumentation.
Interaction with QC Manager, Senior QC Shift Chemists, Analytical Chemist, A&D Chemists, Maintenance personnel and Production personnel.
Role Requirements
Practical chemical skills - with some recent instrumental experience (LC/GC/FTIR/HPLC)
Numerate and problem solving skills
Knowledge of chemistry (organic or polymer)
Ability to work within a team
Computer literate
