Project Location - Hull

Salary - £80k-100k per annum

We are currently seeking an experienced QA/QC Commissioning Lead to oversee quality assurance, control, and commissioning activities on a high-profile Life Sciences project. You will ensure all electrical and mechanical installations are delivered in line with client quality expectations, regulatory compliance, and commissioning readiness.

This is a senior position requiring 10+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with a background in Life Sciences or Data Centre projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for quality assurance and quality control processes across the full MEP scope on-site
  • Develop and implement QA/QC plans, inspection & test plans (ITPs), and checklists tailored to project specifications and client standards
  • Work closely with project teams, consultants, and client representatives to ensure installations meet all contractual and regulatory quality benchmarks
  • Lead and coordinate all MEP commissioning activities, ensuring systems are tested, validated, and documented in line with industry best practice
  • Liaise with package leads and subcontractors to track inspection progress and ensure timely resolution of quality-related issues
  • Manage punch lists / snagging processes, ensuring all non-conformances are logged, tracked, and closed out effectively
  • Carry out regular site inspections and audits, ensuring works are executed as per approved drawings and method statements
  • Collaborate with the project planner and commissioning manager to ensure QA/QC activities are aligned with commissioning schedules
  • Support handover documentation compilation including O&M manuals, test certs, commissioning reports, and quality files
  • Report regularly to senior management and the client on QA progress, risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Champion a culture of right first time and continuous improvement across the site team

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a QA/QC or commissioning role within the MEP construction industry
  • Proven experience on Life Sciences, Cleanroom, or Data Centre projects is highly desirable
  • In-depth understanding of QA/QC protocols, commissioning processes, and ISO or GMP compliance frameworks
  • Strong communication and reporting skills; capable of liaising with all levels of site and client stakeholders
  • Familiar with QA documentation systems, test packs, commissioning tracking tools, and digital quality platforms
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-spec environment
  • Relevant technical background – either trade, engineering degree, or quality certification (e.g. ISO Lead Auditor, CQI, etc.)
