EC&I QA Engineer

Location: Reading

We have extensive experience in offshore and onshore facilities; specialising in asset management services throughout all life cycle phases from consulting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.

Main Responsibilities

  • The role is 80% Quality assurance (LTQR compilation and review) and 20% project facing (inspection, walk rounds, tool box talks)
  • Perform a wide range of QA Engineering tasks to include but not limited to the following:
  • Prepare and review Inspection and Test Plans and supporting Quality documentation.
  • Provide Quality related technical support for projects
  • Review vendor/supplier Inspection and Test Plans
  • Liaise with E&I Completions and Commissioning Engineers, Project Engineers and Construction Operatives in relation to compilation of LTQR (Life Time Quality Records).
  • Co-ordinate and advise guidance on E&I Quality requirements
  • Liaise with 3rd party E&I inspectors and co-ordinate the Inspection function.
  • Raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as appropriate and liaise with Client’s QA departments
  • Ensure all quality documentation/records are maintained within the Company’s Business Management System
  • Ensure quality performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed accordingly against KPIs
  • Contribute to the improvement and technical capabilities of the Company
  • Quality Auditing – Internal & External with supplier auditing experience desirable
  • Support existing, strong workshop HSE Culture


Experience & Qualifications

  • Demonstrable and current experience in ITP and LTQR production, compilation and review (essential)
  • E&I discipline
  • Good Engineering and QA/QC background
  • Knowledge and experience in Quality Management Systems
  • Able to read and understand and electrical schematics
  • Understanding of and familiarity with standards and specifications
  • Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • +3 Years’ experience working in a highly regulated industry (Nuclear/Oil & Gas Construction)
  • Member of Professional Engineering Institute (Desirable)
  • Member of Chartered Quality Institute (Desirable)
  • Current security clearance (SC) (Desirable)
  • Current CSCS card(Essential)
  • A relevant testing and inspection qualification [i.e. C&G 2391 Testing & Inspection] that will support Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Life Time Quality Records (LTQR) production, compilation and review.
