QA Technician
Location: Cheshire
47.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm
Pay Rate: £13.86 per hour

As a QA Technician you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of all dairy products produced at the facility. This role involves monitoring production processes, conducting tests and inspections, and maintaining documentation to meet regulatory, industry, and company standards. The QA Technician plays a key role in upholding food safety protocols and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
QA Technician Key Responsibilities
Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company specifications and regulatory standards.
Conduct microbiological and chemical testing (e.g., pH, fat, protein, moisture, temperature, antibiotic residues).
Monitor pasteurization, homogenization, and other critical control points to ensure compliance with food safety requirements (HACCP, GMP).
Maintain accurate and complete records of all inspections, tests, and corrective actions.
Assist in the investigation of non-conformances, consumer complaints, and deviations.
Support and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the production floor.
Participate in internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections (e.g., FDA, USDA, state agencies).
Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Calibrate, maintain, and ensure proper use of laboratory and testing equipment.
Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality and food safety practices.
Assist in continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality, efficiency, and safety.
The Candidate Requirements
Associate's or bachelor's degree in food science, Dairy Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 2 years' experience working in a food environment, with exposure to food safety, audits, and quality systems.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and equipment used in dairy analysis.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across teams.
