The Business Transformation function in Rotork is responsible for driving our Growth+ strategy and delivering the strategic initiatives that underpin business performance today and in the future. Job Description

As Project Manager, you will play a vital role in driving Business Transformation success, with responsibility for leading critical strategic initiatives that shape the future of Rotork. You will use your commercial mindset to ensure that these strategic initiatives deliver and realise the expected business benefits, whether it is an initiative to expand into a new target segment, design and deliver a new business structure, or deliver new capabilities that improve our customer’s experience.

You will bring a strong business leadership approach linked to your proven project management skills to drive a collaborative approach to project delivery to achieve agreed quality/benefit, cost and time targets. You will be working with Board level sponsors on each strategic initiative and both progress and outcomes will be visible to the Management Board and PLC Board. Your exceptional stakeholder management skills will enable you to manage these relationships effectively and deliver maximum return on investment.

You will be working in partnership with the wider Business Transformation team to help deliver the overall business strategy, manage dependencies and problem solve the challenges faced along the way. Ensuring that Rotork achieves its Growth+ ambitions reliably, responsibly and sustainably.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead several Strategic Initiatives from inception to benefit realisation, taking personal responsibility for project success.
  2. Applying a commercial mindset to project leadership, ensuring that business cases, project activity and outcomes make commercial sense.
  3. Develop and manage key project documentation, including project plans, roles/responsibilities, risk/issue management and governance structures to ensure effective delivery.
  4. Ensure an effective communication flow among the project team and key stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are met.
  5. Manage permanent or temporary teams to ensure project outcomes are achieved, ensuring projects have the associated vendor & contractual management.
  6. Manage risks, issues and constraints and minimises their impact to ensure the success of the project.
  7. Produce project plan updates, budget updates and project reports during the project and ensures final signoff and project review tasks are undertaken.
  8. Ensure a project is complete on time, to budget, achieves the desired outcomes and meets required standards.
  9. Enforce Project Management methods & standards within projects.
  10. Monitor dependencies and the critical path within a programme or the portfolio (if applicable), reporting any issues.
  11. Manage project budgets, capital expenditure, vendor contract management.
  12. No direct line management responsibility but develop and lead cross functional teams to deliver large projects.
  13. Build and maintain internal relationships (including Project Sponsor, Project Steering Committee, Business User Groups, IT, Procurement, Finance, Group Operations, General Managers, Project Teams and PMO).
  14. Manage external relationships (including consultants, contractors, hardware and software vendors).

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Strong track record of leading successful major business transformation.
  2. Demonstrable commercial experience or acumen.
  3. Formal project management certification/ qualifications or equivalent experience.
  4. Industry knowledge, experience or project related experience desirable.
  5. Experience in using MS Project or similar PM tool desirable.
  6. Track record of successful Project Management delivery alongside experience in wider business and operational roles (likely to be over 7+ years).
  7. Proven ability to lead small teams with a diverse range of skills and styles.
  8. Proven ability to manage large complex projects with multiple work streams.
  9. Strong understanding and application of Project Management competencies including scope, time, costs, quality, HR, communications, risk, procurement and change management.
  10. Effective leadership, coordination, influencing, negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  11. Strong understanding of business requirement capture and traceability.
  12. Ability to apply analytical and conceptual thinking skills to problem solving across a range of business challenges.
  13. Strong financial literacy to develop strong business cases, develop and track project KPI’s, manage project budgets, and ensure benefits realisation.
  14. Very strong skills with Microsoft Office tools particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.
