What Are We Looking For?

DPS are looking to bring on board an experienced Project Manager to work as an integral part of the project team out of our office in Inverness. Leading a team of project engineers, you will manage the successful delivery of technical projects for the business ensuring all works are carried out to the highest standards. The main function of the Project Manager role is to deliver all project allocated to you on-time and to budget and to meet our clients' expectations.

As a lead for the project department, you will be a co-ordinating figure, dealing with the project team and stakeholders across all areas of the project.

The role is a customer facing role, building long term relationships with partners is essential and you will interpret the needs, expectations, and limitations of Customer requirements, to deliver a project delivery.

A vital part of this role is having the ability successfully manage relationships, both the internal project and engineering teams as well as our partners and stakeholders. The project department can be a fast-paced environment, having the ability to recognise the needs of the Project team, clients and partners is essential.

Although home/office-based, you will spend time on site with our clients where required.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

  • Set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of HSEQ procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with DPS Group procedures and legal obligations.

  • Assist in maintaining our Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO (phone number removed) and ISO(phone number removed).) and other certifications.

  • Building relationships with the internal teams, the client, and other relevant stakeholders and partners to support business development.

  • Attending meetings as required with the senior management team and other stakeholders. Preparation of both annual and month end project and financial reports.

  • Manage the daily operations within the project department, ensuring project timescales are met within a safe and accurate fashion.

  • Management of the project department financials, ensuring departments are working within budget, monitoring changes across all projects. Identifying any risks in the project and mitigating risks.

  • Innovation - Driving innovation within the project departments, reviewing processes and identifying improvements as the business develops and grows.

  • Build and develop positive relationships with a wide range of customers, be primary contact for projects withing your area. Identify opportunities for new business and opportunities for growth within current clients.

  • Effective management and planning input to the overall programme interfaces with other projects and contribute to the co-ordination of third-party stakeholders as required. Support the project team with planning and developing project plans with Microsoft Project, across the department over multiple projects.

    What Do You Need?

  • Electrical Engineer/ Electronic Engineer/ Control Systems Engineer/Mechatronics degree qualified or equivalent experience with recognised Apprenticeship

  • Demonstrable experience delivering EC&I Projects

  • Experience in delivering projects to a high standard

  • Stakeholder management experience

  • IOSH Managing Safely (preferred)

  • ECS H&S card (preferred)
