About the role

 

We have a great opportunity for aProduction Operator in your Kerry site in Padiham, Co. Lancashire.

 

It is a full-time, permanent position. Core hours of work are 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

 

Where will you work?

 

At our Kerry site in Padiham we develop, manufacture and supply variety of infused oils and fats, such as a chili and garlic oils. As a small yet dedicated team, we are proud to be a part of a global leader in the taste and nutrition industry.

 

As the Production Operator, you will be involved in day-to-day operations on the site, monitoring and adjusting plant and equipment through all stages of the production process. You will also follow Health and Safety standards and cooperate with your colleague to create a safe work environment.

 

What will you do?

 

Your responsibilities as a Production Operator will include:

 

  • Performing production and maintenance tasks related to plant setup, change, and shutdown to meet product specifications and minimize downtime.
  • Assisting with shift administration, including daily production records
  • Reporting any issues on the site to a line manager.
  • Replenishing stocks, such as raw materials, labels, and packaging, to ensure continuous production.
  • Monitoring and adjusting plant settings according to product work instructions.
  • Conduct production processes in line with quality control and HACCP requirements, including visual inspections and sampling.
  • Completing paperwork and inputting data into the company system.
  • Following due-diligence tasks specified by product requirements (e.g., CCPs, temperature control, weight sampling).
  • Maintaining cleanliness through Clean As You Go and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Ensuring plant and equipment remain contamination-free and reporting any issues.
  • Adhering to BRC Quality Standards, HACCP procedures, and Safe Operating Practices.
  • Reporting safety concerns promptly to the line manager.

 

What do you need to be successful?

 

  • Good numeracy and communication skills.
  • Computer literate – MS Excel, Word; SAP will be used.
  • Ability to work both in a team and on your own.
  • Able to cooperate with other teams.
  • Able to follow health and safety standard and raise any issues to a team leader attention.
  • Honest and proactive.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience – desirable.
  • Previous forklift experience – beneficial.
