As the industry expert for company’s entire product line, this role will engage potential customers to understand their technical and operational needs in cell and gene therapy development and manufacturing and demonstrate how our solutions can support their workflows. He/ she will also be responsible for bringing customer feedback and evolving market requirements to the internal development team and collaborating with the marketing team to create marketing materials.

Job Description

  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing staff to position our offerings effectively and convert leads into customers.
  • Engage with potential customers to understand their technical and operational needs in cell and gene therapy development and manufacturing and demonstrate how our solutions can support their workflows.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, technical demonstrations, and product discussions to highlight our capabilities.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to ensure seamless adoption of our solutions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing materials, whitepapers, case studies, and product brochures that effectively communicate our strengths and differentiators.
  • Act as a bridge between customers and our R&D, process development, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with customer expectations.
  • Gather and relay customer feedback and evolving market needs to internal teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation in products, services, and processes.
  • Ensure that our offerings remain aligned with industry trends and ahead of competitors.
  • Work cross-functionally to refine product positioning and strategy based on real- world customer insights.
  • Assist customers with technical troubleshooting related to our products, technologies, and services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to quickly resolve customer challenges and enhance satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and evolving customer needs in cell and gene therapy development and manufacturing to ensure we remain competitive.
  • Proactively identify gaps and opportunities in the market and work with internal teams to enhance product offerings.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to improve product positioning and differentiation in the cell and gene therapy CDMO space.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer sites to promote our products, technologies, and services.
  • Actively engage with potential customers at these events to foster new business opportunities and expand our market presence.

Essential Skills

  • PhD in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in a product-focused or technical sales role within the biopharma, CDMO, or cell and gene therapy industry.
  • Strong understanding of biomanufacturing, process development, and analytical workflows in cell and gene therapy development and manufacturing.
  • Experience engaging with scientists, process engineers, and technical decision- makers in a customer-facing capacity.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling value propositions.
  • Strong presentation development and delivery skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with marketing teams to develop impactful materials.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.
  • Strategic thinking to analyze competitors, anticipate market shifts, and position our products effectively.

Non-Essential Skills

  • Exceptional candidates with a master’s degree and extensive industry experience may also be considered.
  • Prior experience working with a start-up or rapidly growing company that is relatively new to the market.

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, bend, and stand in an office, and potentially lab and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Expected to effectively communicate in person, on phone, and via email and other electronic devices on a continual and repetitive basis.
  • Will need to repeatedly use hands to finger, handle, feel and operate standard office equipment.
  • Day to day responsibilities may require lifting, moving, carrying, and maneuvering materials up to 25 pounds alone; heavier with assistance.
  • Able to travel domestically and globally via car, train, airline, bus and other forms of public and hired modes of transportation.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
