Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 DOE
Hours: 08:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Thursday & early finish on Fridays
Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a Product Development Technician with a background in food, nutrition, or wellness product innovation. Reporting to the Product Development Manager (Ingredients), you’ll support the development of food and beverage products, supplements, and functional ingredient systems across multiple categories.

You’ll be involved in flavour formulation, lab trials, internal tastings, and sample preparation — ensuring that products meet quality, safety, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support the development and testing of food, beverage, and nutrition-based products (NPD/EPD)

· Conduct lab-based tasks including formulation, application trials, and ingredient testing

· Set up and monitor development trials and taste panels

· Maintain accurate documentation, records, and technical data

· Assist with sample prep, stock control, and internal/external sample dispatch

· Contribute to shelf-life trials, technical documentation, and production scale-up

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal standards

Experience Required:

· Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

· Highly organized and confident working independently or in a team

· Experience in food, supplement, or wellness product formulation (e.g. functional beverages, powders, ready-to-drink)

· Knowledge of flavour application and functional ingredients (e.g. nootropics, adaptogens, botanicals)

· Good lab practice and familiarity with chemical handling/safety procedures

· Strong numeracy and Microsoft Office skills

Qualifications:

· Degree in Food Science, Human Nutrition, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Natural Product Discovery (essential)

· Experience in a lab or food manufacturing environment (preferred)

· Food safety certification (a plus)
