We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join PM Group working for us based out of our Birmingham office.

Job Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Contract:Full Time – Permanent

Responsibilities

As part of the UK Mechanical team, you will be responsible for leading the successful mechanical engineering delivery multiple projects and assignments in terms of quality, safety, time and cost. This will be as, either, a mechanical lead or discipline specialist within a project structure.

In addition to the technical delivery, you will provide support to the Head of Department in terms of providing technical guidance to Engineers and Designers within the team.

Qualifications

  • Preferably a Chartered Engineer with IMechE, or working towards.

  • Proven level of experience in mechanical engineering and design projects.

  • Ideally have direct project and sector exposure across operational core sectors; Pharmaceutical, Advanced Manufacturing & Technology, Chemical, Petrochemical, etc.

  • Proficient at interpreting and supporting generation of P&IDs, CAD models and plant layouts

  • Deep understanding and adherence to current legislation, standards and best practices (PED, PSSR, Machinery Regulation, etc.)

  • Experience reviewing design documentation as a technical authority

  • A strong ethical approach to safety, quality, environmental protection and business.

  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally as and when required to meet demands of clients and their projects.
