Principal Engineer – Permanent – EC&I - Staffordshire - £65k + hybrid working + bonus + 30 days annual leave + BUPA
+++Must have a British passport for security clearance+++
Ambitious, growing company is recruiting for a Degree qualified Principal Engineer to work in the defence sector with experience of working on electrical control systems, software and electrical safety systems.
Key aspects of the Principal Engineer role include –

  • Take charge of and lead project teams delivering electrical control systems, industrial software and electrical safety systems to customers in the defence sector
  • Successful Principal Engineer will have experience of working in highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical or nuclear.
  • Have first class stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • Principal Engineer role could suit a Senior Engineer with experience of leading a small team who is ready to take the next step up into a bigger role
  • Knowledge of working to ISO 9001 standards is key
  • Principal Engineers with experience of TUV Functional Safety or have 18th Edition accreditation will be considered favourably
  • A Principal Engineer working towards Chartered status will be supported and mentored
  • You’ll need to be a British passport holder and have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years, as you’ll be put through security clearance if you haven’t already got it.
  • You’ll need to comfortable working the defence sector
  • The management team encourages a sensible work-life balance which encourages everyone to leave the office by 4.30pm daily and have 30 days holiday per year, as well as the statutory Bank Holidays
  • Role will initially be based from the Stafford office (3 days per week) and home (2 days per week with occasional day trips to customer sites
    Principal Engineer package -
  • Up to 10% bonus
  • 30 days holiday + statutory days
  • Private healthcare – includes family members after 6 months service
  • 6% pension contribution
  • 2 days a week from home (everyone works from home on Mondays and Fridays)
    The clients' offices are easily commutable from Stoke, Stafford, Cannock, Lichfield, Telford, Uttoxeter, Stone.
