About the Role

Applications are sought for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to undertake research investigations in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) in order to realise the objectives and development of the research programme. The post holder will investigate critical survival and proliferative pathways in B-cell malignancies. The project aims to explore EMT-like activation in FL and CLL, assessing promising therapeutic targets. This is a pivotal step toward future drug development and subsequent clinical trials. The research will be based in the Centre for Haemato-Oncology, BCI, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.

About You

The key qualifications for this position consist of having an undergraduate degree in a relevant biological field and the possession of a PhD in a related discipline, significant research laboratory experience in cell culture, animal work, biochemistry, flow cytometry and molecular biology techniques is essential. Experience in microscopy, immunohistochemistry and microscopy image analysis and appropriate publication records would be an advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, independent work and meticulous laboratory record-keeping is essential.

The post is based at the Centre for Haemato-Oncology, BCI. It is full time (35 hrs/week), fixed term for 12 months with an expected start date of September 2024. The starting salary will be Grade 4 (SP 26-33), in the range of £37,182 - £44,722 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
