Metal Polisher / Deburring Technician required immediately for a permanent role, working M-F days in the Altrincham / Knutsford, Area. Applicants will ideally be time served, have experience of polishing, grinding & deburring S/S sheet metal and operating Press Brake & Bandsaw / Vertical Cutting Machine to cut metals such as carbon / stainless steel and aluminium. The salary is up to £28,000 pa (DoE) + excellent bens (see below).

HoW: Approx. 40 hours/week – M-F Days 8am-4:30pm
25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Job Objective: Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, effectively polish and finish various grades of stainless steel from deburring to replacing of grain on pre-polished sheets.
  
The successful Metal Polisher / Deburrer Technician day to day duties will include: 

Undertake pre-polishing activities ensuring the required standard of finish is achieved.
Undertake post-polishing activities ensuring the required standard of finish is achieved.
Complete all polishing work in accordance with agreed deadlines.
Identify finished components against full works order requirements and report any anomalies to the Team Leader
Check the final product for cleanliness and general aesthetics and take appropriate action to rectify any defects.
Finish wrap checked components and deliver to the main PA works with completed documentation.
Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed promptly and accurately.
Ensure that completed documentation is despatched with the finished components to the main company works.
If trained, operate the FLT to load and unload vehicles.
Assist customers and colleagues with problems that arise offering practical and appropriate solutions.
Deal professionally, competently and courteously with customers, suppliers and colleagues in verbal and written communications.
Clean and tidy work area on a daily basis and ensure that scrap material is stored appropriately.
Ensure that machines and hand tools are left in a clean and safe condition.   
To be suitable for this Metal Polisher / Deburrer role you must have the following experience / characteristics:

Must have recent experience using handheld polishing equipment, tools, polishing wheels etc. and relevant methods such as polishing, blending, deburring, filing, grinding, hand scraping, fettling, cutting, etc. to finish sheet metal and parts to desired quality standards.
Recently operated a Press Brake, Bandsaw / Vertical Cutting Machine to bend and cut metals such as sheet metal, carbon / stainless steel and aluminium.
Part completion of apprenticeship, qualifications or training in Sheet Metal Fabrication / Welding.
The ability to read engineering drawings and use dimensional measuring equipment to measure fabricated parts.
Keen eye for detail, ensuring the highest standards of quality and ability to work unsupervised.   
The ideal Metal Polisher / Fettler / Deburrer will have the following experience / characteristics: 

Time served / completed apprenticeship in engineering, sheet metal or fabrication environment.
Prior experience of polishing and fabrication on stainless steel and aluminium.
Previous experience of operating press brake, punch press and guillotine.
Previous stores / stock control experience (desirable)
Current or lapsed FLT C/B licence. (desirable)
