  4. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate deployments and reduce manual effort
  5. Build infrastructure to support automated testing and resilient platform operations
  6. Troubleshoot and debug platform issues, ensuring seamless operations and minimal downtime
  7. Influence engineering decisions in a collaborative and inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives

Skills and experience for success:

  • Comfortable with AWS services, especially networking and AWS Glue (DataZone experience is a bonus but not expected)
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure automation
  • Proficiency in scripting and automating infrastructure processes (Python preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
  • Familiarity with dbt and Lake Formation is a bonus
  • Experience setting up infrastructure to enable automated testing
  • Experience collaborating in a DevOps or squad-based culture

Qualifications

Qualifications are not mandatory; however, AWS, Terraform, or Automation certifications are beneficial.

Additional Information

Salary from: £71,500

Closing Date: Sunday 15th June at 23:00 (UK time)

We offer a benefits package including:

  • Generous Leave: 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, additional leave for long service, and up to 30 days of remote working abroad annually (approval required)
  • Family-Friendly: Blended working arrangements, flexible working, enhanced maternity, paternity, and shared parental leave benefits
  • Pension & Financial: Defined contribution pension (Genomics England double-matches up to 10%), Life Assurance (3x salary), and Give As You Earn scheme
  • Learning & Development: Individual learning budgets, support for training and certifications, and reimbursement for one annual professional subscription (approval required)
  • Recognition & Rewards: Employee recognition programme and referral scheme
  • Health & Wellbeing: Subsidised gym membership, a free Headspace account, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme, eye tests, flu jabs
